We purchased the restaurant from the previous owners of Kickapoo Catfish. The owners are Freddie & Leslie Rangel, and Shannon & Jessie Rangel. We are family owned and operated.
We all have been in the restaurant business our whole lives. Our parents owned and operated the Casa Manana Restaurant, which was located here in Wichita Falls for over 40 years. We all grew up and worked there all our childhood lives; therefore we have extensive restaurant experience.
Fred’s Catfish serves a variety of food starting with a daily lunch buffet. Items on this buffet are all home made. The buffet has catfish, chicken fried steaks, fried chicken and a daily special such as meatloaf or enchiladas. It also has a large variety of vegetables, salads and cobbler.
Our menu which is served at night and on Saturdays has a large variety of food as well. It consists of catfish, shrimp, chicken strips, and a variety of Mexican food. We serve beer and wine to go along with your dinner, as well as fresh homemade desserts.
When we purchased the restaurant, we had to do extensive remodeling and updating to the entire restaurant. It is a family atmosphere, with a large fish tank with lots of colorful fish for the kids to enjoy looking at, and 3 large screen TVs with every sport you can imagine for the adults to enjoy.
